These Terms of Service are currently under review and may be updated periodically.

Field Institute of Taos (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates fitaos.org (the “Website”) and provides youth outdoor education programs in Taos, New Mexico.

By accessing or using this Website, or by enrolling a participant in our programs, you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use this Website or register for programs.

1. Use of Website 

You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not interfere with its operation or other users.

2. Program Participation & Guardian Consent

All programs are intended for minors and require registration by a parent or legal guardian. By registering a participant, you represent and warrant that:

You are the parent or legal guardian of the participant.
You have authority to accept all terms, waivers, and policies on their behalf.

3. Registration, Payments, and Third-Party Services

All registration, payments, and required documentation (including liability waivers and medical forms) are processed through Regpack.

By using registration services:

You acknowledge you are leaving our Website and entering an external platform.
You agree to provide accurate and complete information.
You agree to all terms presented during registration.

Field Institute of Taos is not responsible for the policies or practices of third-party services.

4. Assumption of Risk

Participation in outdoor programs involves inherent risks including uneven terrain, weather exposure, wildlife encounters, and physical exertion. Participation is contingent upon a signed waiver.

5. Medical Authorization & Emergency Care

Parents/guardians must provide accurate health information. You authorize staff to provide first aid and seek emergency medical care if necessary.

6. Code of Conduct

Participants must follow instructions, act respectfully, and care for the environment. Staff may remove participants without refund for unsafe behavior.

7. Cancellation, Refunds, and Force Majeure

All cancellations and refund policies are managed through Regpack and are agreed to during registration. Field Institute of Taos is not liable for cancellations due to events beyond our control.

8. Media Release

Unless declined in writing during registration, photos and videos may be used for educational or promotional purposes.

9. Intellectual Property

Website content is owned by Field Institute of Taos and may not be reproduced without permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Field Institute of Taos is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from Website use or program participation.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Mexico.

12. Changes to Terms

Field Institute of Taos reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Website or participation in programs constitutes acceptance of any changes.
